Can You Find No Down Payment Car Insurance?

Lots of people find that their budget’s are stretched pretty thin these days, and even though they may want to buy new auto insurance, they do not want to pay a hefty down payment.

An Insurance Policy is a CONTRACT

You must first understand that an insurance policy is a contract, and there has to be an exchange. An auto insurance company will agree to cover you, but in return, you must exchange a payment with them. So while you can find auto insurance with no large down payment, you will probably need to pay for the first month’s premium in advance. That is the same as paying every month’s premium in advance.

So your best bet will be to find an insurance company with a monthly payment plan.

Ads for No Down Payment Car Insurance

Understand that I seen articles and ads for “no down payment auto insurance“, but when I read deeper, they seem to mean that several months do not have to be paid in advance. They do not imply that no money must be paid in advance . So I am pretty sure you should expect to pay the first month’s payment in advance.

If you only need your state required minimum liability coverage, this payment can be fairly low. Of course, your monthly premiums will vary by many factors, including the type of coverage, your age, driving history, credit report, etc.

Replacing Insurance with a New Company

If you are switching insurers, and you don’t want to have to premiums, you can try to time your new policy before the old company requires your monthly payment. If you have already paid for your previous company’s premium, you can be assured they will issue you a refund very promptly. I have never had a problem with one of the top auto insurance companies.
